Why Foreigner Gave Us the Priceless Gift of Their Music

Foreigner has had a relationship with us for many years. They’ve helped us raise funds at their concerts with $1 donations on each ticket. Mick and Kelly had actually met some of the kids in our care, and gotten to know them. Over time, it became more than a nice charitable offering for them. They saw what we do for our patients, and they wanted to have a bigger impact.

Foreigner’s manager, Phil Carson, approached us with the mind-blowing offer to donate their #1 hit song, I Want To Know What Love Is, as long as we could find a quality way to use it. We asked our marketing partner, BAM Marketing Agency, to help us make the best use of this priceless gift. They gave us the concept for a new music video, featuring Mick, Kelly, and some Shriners children. Foreigner loved the idea and decided to donate all proceeds from the music download to Shriners Hospitals.

As the music video concept went into development, Foreigner wanted to do more for us. They put together a new live version of their greatest hits, and are donating all proceeds to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

We are eternally grateful to Mick Jones, Kelly Hansen, and Phil Carson for showing so much love to our kids, by donating their art, their music, and their time and talent to help them out. We love Foreigner!
